Support Supplied
Support for printers or printer/scanner combo's is very basic. The IT Department will support users with installation of the printer/scanner software and drivers. We will also provide support for any software usage or troubleshooting should the software not operate as originally installed.
If the printer is faulty within 2 weeks of receiving it we can arrange a pickup via the distributor.
Support Not Supplied
The IT department will not offer support with the actual hardware.
If the unit is older than 2 weeks but younger than 12 months old, the employee will contact HP/Epson etc. on the number supplied with the instructions for the printer. HP/Epson etc. will then provide support or an engineer visit if required.
If the unit is older than 12 months then more than likely a new unit will need to be purchased. There is no real support that can be provided by the IT department and the cost of shipping and time etc. will far outweigh the cost of a new unit.
