How to do a print screen/screen grab for a support issue
Windows version
Sometimes when explaining an issue to the IT support team you need to show whats on your screen. To do this, first locate the Print Screen button on your machine.Give the button a click and then open Microsoft Word or any alternative. When open, press Ctrl+V or go to the menu and Paste just as you would paste text.
A picture of your screen should be pasted into Word. Save this file to your desktop, now when you create your support ticket you can attach this file to the ticket.
Mac Version
- Command+Shift+3: takes a screenshot of the full screen (or screens if multiple monitors), and save it as a file to the desktop
- Command+Shift+4: brings up a selection box so you can specify an area to take a screenshot of, then save it as a file to the desktop
- Command+Shift+4, then spacebar, then click a window: takes a screenshot of a window only and saves it as a file to the desktop
